I didn't realise so much time had passed since our last blog update! Sorry chaps! So much has happened since the last time we posted. So in terms of exhibitors......

2013'S EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED!

We've been overwhelmed with the interest in our event and are happy to announce all our exhibition spaces have been filled. We still have advertising opportunities available in our delegate brochure and website and we are looking for companies to help with our goody bags, so if you have a product that you want to shout about, and introduce to the public and bloggers alike, we want to hear from you! go to our Contact Page for all the details on how to get in touch!

In terms of planning, we still have some amazing brands to announce, we're just waiting on paperwork and all the boring red tape stuff to go through, but we think you're going to really love the range of brands we've got for this years event.

The event itself after much floor plan juggling will be split into the larger "Clothes Zone" and the Smaller but still rather fabulous "Accessories and Lifestyle Zone"

As you may know we have the fabulous Mighty Boof back this year for photobooth fun times and we have a few other treats, surprises and fun stuff up our sleeve too.

The afterparty which we've not really gone into any great detail as of yet is shaping up to be amazing. again we're just waiting on a few details before we announce some of the fun stuff that will be happening on the night!

Applications for modelling are now open, if you fancy trying a spot of modelling, boosting your confidence or just strutting your stuff all we ask is that because we're a Plus Size event you are a size 14 - 32 so that the clothes we have available to us fit you. Other than that there are no height, size or shape restrictions. Email Rosie on plusnorthmodels@outlook.com for more info!

Hope you're all well? as you might have seen on twitter and facebook we're thrilled to confirm that the venue for Plus North 2013 is The Renaissance Hotel, Manchester. With ample space, great accessibility and plush surroundings we hope you'll love it as much as we do!

We're waiting to for the hotel to send over a special code for corporate rates, once we've got this we'll let you know, in the mean time we're composing a list of hotels in the near by area too.

With the venue confirmed we've now opened tickets sales, tickets for the day event remain at £5, the same as last years price and will include all the perks of last year too, welcome drinks, goody bags and so much more.

In addition to the day event we've decoded to hold an after party this year. It's really what it says on the tin, they'll be dancing, food and possibly a small amount of karaoke.... *cue Becky just singing all night*. tickets for this are priced at just £10, but if you wish to buy tickets for both the day and evening event you can get them at the combined price of £13.

And finally I's like to quickly introduce our team for this year, I'm sure the fabulous logo has not gone unnoticed and that's all thanks to the wonderful Hanna our Design Co-ordinator.

The models this year will be looked after by the beautiful Rosie - if you would like to model for us, we'll be accepting applications shortly, as with last year we're not looking for professionals, its done purely on a voluntary basis and its all about having fun and boosting confidence!

And finally the gorgeous Mhairi is on board again over seeing ticket sales and general admin, Mhairi was invaluable to us last year and I'm sure will be of great help again this year!

So that's about it really for now, Toni and I hope you can make it, we can't wait to meet you all, and have a jolly old time!!!

]]><![CDATA[New Beginnings ]]>Mon, 21 Jan 2013 19:49:49 GMThttp://www.plusnorth.com/1/post/2013/01/new-beginnings.htmlThis week Toni and I headed to Manchester to view venues and meet with potential sponsors. Its hard to believe that we're now at the point of full on organising again, we're so excited to for this years event and can't wait to have massive party with you guys all over again.

So what can we tell you so far? Well.... We're 99% sure of the venue, we're just waiting for contracts to come through, which we'll sign off and then we're all systems go on that front. We're in talks with several huge brands regarding the Premier Sponsor positions. We listened to your feedback last year and instead of having one main sponsor we've opened up 5 spaces, so the catwalk will have more variety.

We have however secured our first Premier Sponsor. The Fabulous Excite Clothing, proving massively popular at last years event, Excite have now come on board to play an even bigger part in this years event, along with their participation in the catwalk, they have donated the HUGEST prize to this years Prize Draw. Details of which will be revealed later on in the year (we have to keep some mystique)

As you may know we love to support small independent retailers too and this year is no exception, first to sign up is Jewellery and Accessories brand Always Be Beautiful

We're also delighted to confirm that SLiNK Magazine are out Media Partners again this year, we love all things SLiNK and hope that you do to!

I think once the event was over, Toni and I just wanted to take stock and take a massive breather to think about what to do next... and as we approach the end of the year we're already making plans for Plus North 2013. So now with plans afoot I thought it might be a nice time to look back at Plus North 2012....

Instead of me blathering on for ages I thought it might be nice to pop a gallery of pics up and links to all the blogs that covered the event. My apologies if I missed anyone off, please feel free to leave your links in the comments section!!

Just another quick update as to where we're at here at Plus North Towers! I picked up the tickets yesterday and they're looking fantastic! I'm yet to get the brochure printed up because we've had a last minute rush on sponsors and contributors which is no bad thing indeed, it means we can organise even more fab things for you! But is does mean your delegate pack will be delayed a short while, but of course you will receive them in good time for the event!

So onto our newest sponsors and contributors! First up is sponsor and exhibitor Eve Activewear. Steph will be bringing along her fab range for you to view, lots of info and a fabulous sale rail for you to pick up some bargains, plus size activewear is still hard to get hold of, because heaven forbid we'd like to be involved in fitness or sport hey? But its great to see brands like Eve Activewear address this.

We also have 2 new fabulous contributors on board, luxury clothing website Curvy and Stylish and American based brand Eddy and Bri. Both of which will be adding something lovely for you to the goody bags and have kindly added their support to our event.

Plus-Size-Tall is a one stop shop for all your plus size needs, it features all the latest plus size news, fashion stories and trends and the plus size community features forums and a directory. The site has information for not just the plus woman but for the chaps too, which makes a welcome change! We're over the moon to announce our newest sponsor is the Fabulous F+F, the clothing line of that ever so famous supermarket Tesco. Not only will one the wonderful buyers be coming along to talk to you about all things fashion, they'll be holding a question and answer session where you could help shape future plus clothing ranges with your opinions and questions. We're absolutely thrilled Benefit are on board and will be proving a whole host of exciting treats for you to sample. Along with a HUGE £250 gift voucher for the prize draw, Benefit will be giving away prizes on the day, bringing their own technicians along to give you make up tutorials and a whole lot more!!! Some great updates for you all, we're excited to announce the addition of more sponsors and some lovely treats for you on the day.

We've got the Fabulous Remi Ray from Trapped in a Skinny world who'll be there on the day - check out her website you'll have a chance to chat with her, purchase her fab t-shirts and much more.

Purveyors of beautiful office wear Dea London will be exhibiting their small but beautifully formed collection for you to swoon over and will be running a competition on the day where one lucky delegate can win a piece from the collection worth upto £290!!

Fashion forward Excite clothing will be with us on the day too, so you can have a closer look at their exciting range of trendy, affordable clothing. Toni and I have been hard at work liaising with brands and PR to try and secure some great stalls for you to peruse, prizes for you to win and things for you to experience!

So far we have our Premier Sponsor Simply Be who will be hosting the fabulous catwalk, showing off the latest in Plus Size fashion and Lingerie.

Life's Big Canvas - Chloe will be bringing her beautiful handmade jewellery for you to look at, try on and purchase. She'll also be providing a bespoke service on the day where by you can be measured up and have jewellery made to your specific size, no more tight fitting necklaces or baggy bracelets!

We're also being sponsored by the wonderful Plus-Size-Tall, a fantastic plus-size webzine, a one stop shop for all the latest plus size fashion news
